OUR INVOLVEMENT

We believe passionately that travel and tourism is a force for good. Creating connections, starting conversations, sharing experiences. For anyone who’s travelled the benefits are clear, what can be less clear and obvious is the benefit travel has in the destinations we visit.

Fisher Private Travel is a member of two organisations, The Conscious Travel Foundation (TCTF) and The Long Run.

We joined TCTF in January 2022 with a thirst for knowledge, looking to be part of a community of like-minded travel professionals from whom we could learn and develop.

We’ve joined The Long Run because we believe the 4Cs that are the blood of the organisation – Conservation, Culture, Community & Commerce – are a blueprint for long-term sustainable tourism practices.

Our first international trip after founding Fisher Private Travel was to Kenya, we visited some incredible lodges in Laikipia and Samburu, including The Long Run founding partner Segera Retreat Lodge. Our safari guide Ngimat explained his journey from an illiterate 12-year-old who benefitted from sponsored education to become a safari guide at one of Africa’s top lodges, it’s an inspirational example of the power well directed support can have to change lives.

We are fortunate to be in a position to contribute to the Zeitz Foundation’s bursary scheme and have committed to assist with the cost of secondary education for 14 year old Tuuno Carey Leserian. Tuuno began studying at Thome Boys Secondary School in Nanyuki in January 2023, his dream is to study medicine at university.

Through our travels we will be actively looking for further opportunities for the Fisher Private Travel Foundation to contribute in areas that align with the 4Cs concept, looking at long-term sustainable programmes with a particular focus on education, health and conservation.

Every client travelling with Fisher Private Travel has a voluntary £40 per person contribution to the foundation, at the end of each year we will match the total raised and allocate the funds to projects we believe in.
